This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is incorporated by reference into the Vetsweb Service Agreement and is an integral part of the contractual relationship between Vetsweb Digital (“Vetsweb”) and the Client. Capitalized terms not defined in this AUP have the meanings given in the Service Agreement.

By using Vetsweb’s services, the Client agrees to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of services without notice or refund, as outlined in the Service Agreement.

This Policy is designed to protect Vetsweb, our clients, and the broader online community from abusive, illegal, or harmful activities. It applies to all services provided by Vetsweb, including but not limited to hosting, website maintenance, SEO, content creation, Google Ads management, and other marketing services.

Vetsweb reserves the right to update this Policy at any time. The most current version will always be available at: https://www.vetsweb.us/acceptable-use-policy/.

1. Prohibited Uses

1.1 Hosting & Technical Services

Clients may not use Vetsweb services to:

  • Host, transmit, or store content that violates applicable laws or regulations, including copyrighted, trademarked, or trade secret material without authorization.
  • Host or distribute obscene, defamatory, threatening, or unlawful material.
  • Host or transmit adult material, pornography, or lewd content.
  • Send unsolicited bulk messages (“spam”) by any method, including email, instant messaging, VOIP, forums, blogs, or social platforms.
  • Send more than 500 emails per day on average through Vetsweb’s SMTP servers without prior arrangement.
  • Operate unconfirmed mailing lists; all mailing lists must be Closed-Loop (“Confirmed Opt-In”) with proof of consent retained.
  • Impersonate another person or entity, misrepresent your identity, or alter message headers to disguise the origin.
  • Gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
  • Launch or participate in denial-of-service (DoS) attacks or any activity that disrupts normal network operation.
  • Store files unrelated to your website or business email, including personal backups or media collections.
1.2 SEO, Content, and Marketing Services

Clients may not use Vetsweb services to:

  • Engage in black-hat SEO tactics, including link schemes, keyword stuffing, cloaking, or hidden text. All SEO services will be performed using ethical, “white hat” SEO techniques consistent with industry best practices, as described in the Service Agreement.
  • Publish false, misleading, or deceptive content on websites, blogs, or marketing materials.
  • Misrepresent products, services, or business information to manipulate search rankings or mislead users.
  • Use AI-generated content without review to ensure accuracy, compliance with laws, and adherence to platform guidelines.
1.3 Google Ads & Third-Party Advertising Accounts
  • The Client must create and maintain any Google Ads, Google Business Profile, or other advertising accounts in their own name and under their own billing profile.
  • The Client must provide Vetsweb with administrative access for management purposes.
  • Vetsweb will not create, own, or retain control over any Client advertising accounts.
  • The Client is solely responsible for all ad spend billed directly by the advertising platform.
  • All ad campaigns must comply with the platform’s terms of service and applicable laws.
  • Misleading advertisements, bait-and-switch tactics, and deceptive pricing are strictly prohibited.
1.4 Data Storage & Backup

Unless the Client is enrolled in a maintenance plan that expressly includes backup services, the Client is solely responsible for maintaining their own backups of all website files, databases, and content. Vetsweb is not liable for any data loss resulting from server failures, hacking, accidental deletion, or other causes outside its direct control.

2. Client Responsibility for End Users

Clients are responsible for the actions of their employees, contractors, representatives, and any other users who access Vetsweb services under their account. Any violations by these parties will be treated as violations by the Client.

3. Enforcement & Service Suspension

Vetsweb may, at its sole discretion:

  • Suspend or terminate services without refund for violations of this Policy.
  • Remove or disable access to content that violates this Policy.
  • Report illegal activities to appropriate authorities.

Vetsweb is not liable for any loss of revenue, customers, or business opportunities resulting from enforcement actions, service interruptions, or account termination.
